I just wanna hold you, & occasionally
Give you the very best sex of your life
I should've told you that I needed
To be friends with you, girl
Much more than I need a wife, ya but
Words, words, words
Have always had a way of getting me
In trouble nearly all my life
Words, words, words
I'm alone, but alive
Dreaming of you resting
In these lonesome arms tonight
Down by the waterside
Can I call you
Or is the gap so wide
That my voice is from another time
Words, words, words
Have always had a way of getting me
In trouble all my life
Words, words, words
If you want me, here I am
Waiting for you in the quickly falling sands of time
Down by the waterside
& if you came here, you would find
It might take a little effort
But last a little bit longer than last time
Oh, lovin' you that long is all that's ever always on my mind
Words, words, words
Always had a way of getting me
In trouble nearly all my life
Words, words, words
If you want me, here I am
Waiting for you in my swiftly shifting state of mind
Lost, now it's your turn to find the words
The words, words, the words, words, words
Fell in love with a beautiful name
But just like words, she slipped away

Spectre
03:29
|
|||
The bus was right on time, too late
And I was short a dime
I looked around, and nothing found
I stepped into the Night
I wandered for a year, unbound
From trail to cobbled stone
The further travelled, I came unravelled
And fell into this poem
My dreams of haunting you
Have fallen through and through
But in enough time, we all learn to find
That there's nothing left to prove
One night upon the sand, in darkness
I forced myself to speak
& I said it lowly, "goodbye to old me", then
I spoke not for a week
The stars we hold up high, came down
& and they circled 'round my head
I noticed slowly, if they control me
I'm better off than dead
So now I leave the Past behind me,ya
As time that somehow bleeds
'Cuz every one thing, continues something
& you get just what you need

Sundown Tonight
02:50
|
|||
Oh, won't you let me take your mind for a ride
Over the mountains and the highest tide, yes
Up where the feelings in your heart reside
We could be there by sundown tonight
Pack up a sweater, and tie your hair
Ignore the weather, but be prepared
Signs on the road all say we're nearly there
& we could be there by sundown tonight
Clouds may form, but after the rain it's gonna shine
And once more all our lucky stars will re-align
Hold me close I wanna drink your lips up
Just like wine, yeah, all the time
And don't think twice we could be
There by sundown tonight
Slip into something you can wear all the time
I want to take you to the moon on the rise &
Tell you I love you when I look into your eyes
We could be there by sundown tonight
Clouds may form, but after the rain it's gonna shine
And once more, you will lay your heart down next to mine
Hold me close, I wanna drink your lips up
Just like wine, yeah, all the time
And don't think twice, we could be
There by sundown tonight
Won't you let me take your mind for a ride
Oh, won't you let me take your mind for a ride
Won't you let me take your mind for a ride
We could be there by sundown tonight

Back on the Road
03:45
|
|||
I was walking down the street
Trying so damn hard to meet
That little someone good to me
I cast a line and caught her eye
One thousand times but set it loose
Like all the fools, I played the Blues
And headed back to my abode
But once you're gone, you've got to go
& get yourself back on the road
I was driving down the street
Going nowhere, gas was cheap
I turned the corner, what did I see
I hit the brakes, that's all it takes
Got out and walked right up to her
There's just no cure for her allure
She carries high her heavy load
But once you're gone, you've got to go
& get yourself back on the road
I was waiting down the street
In the place she said we'd meet
My mind was like out of control
No time to talk, she had to roll
She disappeared and took my heart
Where she did go I will never know
But once you're gone, you've got to go
& get yourself back on the road

Coincidence
02:50
|
|||
Hey, it's great to meet you
I've seen you once before
Dancing at the Rainbow Bistro
Not too long ago
This might be Coincidence
But I think that it's much more
I thought I'd tell the story
Using only these two chords, but
Oh, love at first sight
I was stepping out as you were
Walking through the door
Tripped over my broken heart
& you picked it off the floor
It took me a lifetime
To decide what life was for
Now you're here and it's so clear
I need wonder no more
Oh, love at first sight
It's been a while, still, the sparkle's in your eye
Even though we've been through many things
That made us cry
And as the days and months
And years go flying past
I know we've got this
Magic love & it's going to last
It's gonna last
Oh, love at first sight
You're dynamite
You've got to hold onto me tight, honey
Love at first sight

Home From You
03:26
|
|||
Justice is blind
My eyes are low
My broken heart
Has nowhere left to go
Did I make it home alive
Or did I fall asleep
When you let me drive
Home from you
Headed for sorrow
Headed for strife
Bullet is loaded
On the edge of my mind
Did I make it home alive
Or did I fall asleep
When you let me drive home from you
Hurts to the centre
Of my heart
Hurts like a mentor
Failing a child
So many hours
Making you smile
Over & Over
I've seen you down the aisle
Did I make it home alive
Did I fall asleep
When you let me drive home from you.

Haunted
03:02
|
|||
Darling, I don't feel your love in the morning
Lately, I don't feel your love anymore, &
I'm feeling like I don't have a reason for being
Oh, oh, say that you'll return my love, because
I need it, I want it, I Can't have it, I'm haunted
Honey, ain't nobody made me so lonely
Hey, you're my only, open up your heart pretty lady
Me & my feelings had enough, it was tough, now I'm leaving
On down that lonely road all alone and
I'm moving, I was hurt & I won't be returning
I waited to feel it, lord knows I believed it
Freezing, like a ghost you leave most disbelieving
So free the heart you were stealing
Free my heart and soul, won't you please dear
I had a reason for coming home so late in the evening
You were the one out deceiving
& now I'm grieving love that's gone away, &
I need it, I want it, I can't have it... Haunted

Passenger
03:05
|
|||
Well, that ice cream cone was a sweet goodbye
Even though I know I would later cry
When I got back home all alone in the pouring rain
I was your ride home but I'm a passenger on your train
Well, it was up to you, it was a hot night in June
It wasn't wrong, just like a song, you knew exactly what to do
You sang along so sweet
Your very old soul had me feeling very new indeed
Where will I see you again, and was it all just a dream
All these signs point to you, Angel Guardian Queen
I'm not just passing through
Oh, would you
Give me some hope before I start kicking leaves
Or the cold wind blows snow over dead empty streets
All alone, again, and again, and again, and again
I was your ride home, but I'm a passenger on your train
I was your ride home, but I'm a passenger on your train

Moonlight Streetlight
03:22
|
|||
Deepest dark hours of the morning
I go out walking, I've been searching for some kind of feeling
And I hope that I find it, in that moonlight or streetlight
moonlight streetlight moonlight streetlight moonlight streetlight
Found your toque in my dresser drawer
And just like a photograph, it reminded me of you
& I thought you might need it, so I tried to bring it back
I even went to your door, but when I saw you
I knew we were through
Now the faint trace aromas
Of the Earth in the sweet Summer sun
Haunt my bedroom and all of my memories every night
So just like a shadow at the breaking of the Dawn
I've been going out walking in the moonlight or
Streetlight, moonlight streetlight
But it's so dark now, ain't it strange how
It's so dangerous in this part of town
For little brown-eyed girls, so lost like you
To be out here, just roaming around
Ya ya ya, so I guess I will just go on home
The chances of running into you out here, anyway
At this time are so slim-to-none
Deepest dark hours of the morning
I, I go out walking and just like the Coasters, man
I've been searchin', & searchin', & searching
& hoping I'll find it in all of the moonlight or streetlight
moonlight streetlight moonlight streetlight moonlight streetlight

What Became of You
01:46
|
|||
There she goes, she's on a plane
Ya, she vanished into air
But we never said goodbye
& I wonder if she even cares
Every sunny Summer day
Yellow skies will turn me blue
All the time I'll wonder why
& of what became of you
Now I'm crying in the rain
& I don't know why I said those words
But she's gone for somewhere else
& I know I won't be hers
Every sunny Summer day
Ya those yellow skies will turn me blue
& all the time I'll wonder why
& what became of pretty old you

That Place
02:38
|
|||
In the summer, on the water, I will fall in love with you
As the sun rises on the hillside, I will see my dream come true
Please help me to remember, 'cause my mind is so weak these days
I've been working so hard in the city
& I'm just trying to get back to that place
In the Summer, in the moonlight, every hour becomes the Past
But I won't think about September & I'll feel one year younger than I am
Please help me to remember, 'cause I'm getting stuck in my ways
I've been working so hard in the city
& I'm just trying to get back to that place
I've been working so hard in the city
& I'm just trying to get back to that place

Ordinary Day
03:19
|
|||
On an ordinary day, at an ordinary time
I will come to you and say
Oh, now girl won't you be mine
Morning fields are full of dew
You're standing barefoot in the grass
I'm spending all my time with you
Now darling, is that too much to ask?
'Cause if it's not, please tell me true
& I'll spend every day with you
On an ordinary day
At an ordinary time
On an ordinary day
At an ordinary time
